My education and career in the arts fueled my passion for painting. But it’s been the time spent teaching art that’s most influenced my own art making process.
I’ve taught painting workshops here in the US, France and Mexico; in public schools and art centers for the disabled community.
I have learned a skill that cannot be taught, only acquired over time. Time spent making art with the courage to question its results.
“Looking deeper” is a skill that demands endless visual and emotional comparisons, judgements. What direction to take and which direction to let go.
I paint everyday. It’s a habit. An action I take each day to look deeper into my own work.
